Hillbilly’s Fried Chicken Announces Expansion

Fast food chain will open 26 stores.

Cork based company Hillbilly’s Fried Chicken is set to open another 26 stores around the country by the end of next year. This is a huge expansion for a company that currently has just seven stores, but Director of franchising Dermot Carberry says the chain has received a spike in interest from potential franchisees. According to Carberry, the increased interest has come mainly from franchisees of other brands who have paid high fees in previous years and want to move onto a more cost-effective business model.

The fast food industry is one few sectors that have consistently performed well through the economic downturn. The growth has been attributed to families being strapped for cash, but still wanting to bring their families out for a treat.
